In case of death or incapacity, what solutions are available on the Web concerning the memories that I posted on different social networks and the documents and files finding itself in my various accounts?

After your death, access of your close relatives to memories that you posted on social networks and put in your various accounts on the Web is not automatic. To enable them to access your photos, messages and other documents and files, dedicated services are made available to certain close relatives which services, although still few on the Web, can however be very useful.

In the case of your incapacity, access to such contents could be beneficial to allow your mandatary to property to administer adequately your virtual assets that are also part of the property constituting your patrimony.

So, you can acquire storage space online to store therein contents of which the data is fully encrypted. You must then appoint an authorized representative who will be responsible for informing the service provider of your death or your incapacity. In case of death, the persons to whom you intended the contents of your storage space, being the heirs and legatees, will receive by e-mail access to the contents that you have stored during your lifetime. In case of incapacity, your mandatary to property can then repatriate the contents of your storage space in your patrimony in view to administer all your property. You will then have to make sure that the coordinates of your heirs and legatees or of your mandatary to property are continuously updated to assure timely reception of the information.

Some websites offer, in addition to the storage of memories, that of administrative documents and even passwords of some online services.

In anticipation of death, it also exists on the Web services of the type "digital will" or "safe for digital inheritance" which, in some way, allow to program the legacy of your virtual data as for example your IDs and passwords.
