In the event that you are unable to make or express a decision yourself, a living will allows you to choose who, along with your attending physicians, will care for you and sign the necessary authorizations for the medical care you may or may not require at the end of your life.
The proposed living will provides the main clauses concerning the type of medical care you wish to receive, and in particular the refusal to be overly aggressive in diagnosis or treatment.
If you don't have a living will in case of incapacity, or if the one you do have does not contain a clause concerning end-of-life treatment or consent to medical care, a living will can meet your needs.
