Why require the verification of the matrimonial regime?

The marriage search allows you to find out:

• the marital status and the marital property regime of the deceased (community of personal property and acquisitions, separation of property, community of acquisitions, foreign regime), or details of their civil union;

• the divorce decree or judgment annulling the civil union;

• whether the marriage contract contains a testamentary clause that may take effect in the absence of a subsequent will.
