The legal warranty is the one provided in the Civil Code of Quebec. The buyer is legally entitled to it by the sole operation of law. It means that the seller is bound to warrant to the buyer the right of ownership of the movable property sold, as well as the quality of said movable property.
Any sale is deemed to be made with the legal warranty, unless otherwise expressly stated in the sale agreement.
