What are the procedures for holding the votes?

The vote must normally be held by a show of hands. It can, on request, be held by secret ballot. The procedures of the vote must take into account the fact that the co-owners do not necessarily have all the same number of votes. The most frequent majorities are the simple majority, the absolute majority and the special majorities. The simple majority is constituted by a majority of the votes expressed. The absolute majority is constituted by a majority of the votes of the members present or represented. The special majorities are these majorities where a higher proportion of the votes or members is required. For divided co-ownerships, it is about the majorities evoked in sections 1096, 1097 and 1098 of the Civil Code of Quebec.
