Description

Application or transfer/modification of a registration boat in the Canadian Register.
    This service includes:
    • Check that the conditions required by law for the registration of a boat are met in order to obtain a registration certificate
    • Complete the required documentation and help you gather the relevant supporting documents.
    • Ensure that the person wishing to register a boat is qualified, and that the boat is not already registered in the Canadian Register .
    Let us recall:
    • The Register allows for the registration of up to five joint co-owners of a vessel or a share in a vessel.
    • In the event of a change of ownership without modification of the building, the transfer of ownership and the identity of the new owners must be registered.
    • You must choose a port of registration, which will become the home port of your boat.
    • The person wishing to register a boat must be qualified, and the boat must not already be registered.
    Benefits :
    • Clear identification of the owner in a public register.
    • Possibility of giving the boat as security for a mortgage.
    • Easy navigation and entry into international waters and foreign ports .

Maritime mortgage

    • Vessels registered as pleasure craft cannot be subject to a maritime mortgage.
    • Funding governed by the Canada Shipping Act
    • The maritime mortgage only affects a vessel registered in the Canadian Register of Vessels.
    Why choose a maritime mortgage?
    • The maritime mortgage allows you to obtain financing adapted to the acquisition of a boat .
    • Protects lenders through formal registration.
    • For registered vessels intended to remain outside Canadian territorial waters (in bound) , the maritime mortgage is the most attractive financing vehicle.

Maritime Mortgage Discharge Service
    • The vessel remains encumbered by maritime mortgage until the Registrar has proceeded to the cancellation of the mortgage .
    • The amount shown on a receipt does not necessarily reflect the entire mortgage. It is therefore crucial that the document provided to us clearly states that this amount was paid to release the boat from the mortgage.
    • Once the loan is fully repaid, it is strongly recommended that you obtain a discharge from your mortgage lender .
    • A receipt is essential in the event of resale or refinancing of the boat.

  • 1 to 3 working days required to prepare your quotation.
