Intellectual property

  • Intellectual property refers to creations of the mind such as inventions, names, images, designs, software and models, which shall be used in the course of commercial trades. Patents, trademarks, industrial designs; these rights, as those obtained in the purchase of a land or real estate property, are "properties", meaning that they are based on the recognized right by law to prevent others from using them and to prevent that the ownership of these rights be transferred.
  • Adding an intellectual property clause may be very useful if the client who is a business is required to retain the services of a provider for the creation of copyrighted works and the works thus developed must remain the property of the client .
