What must contain the power of attorney?

The power of attorney (which constitutes a mandate pursuant to the Civil Code of Quebec) must include certain essential information:

• the identity of the mandator, being the person who gives the power of attorney;
• the identity of the mandatary, being the person who will be authorized to act on behalf of the mandator;
• the object of the power of attorney;
• the powers granted to the mandatary;
• the signatures.
