How the hypothec in favor of a municipality for failure to pay property taxes is cancelled?

The hypothec in favor of a municipality, often published to ensure the recovery of unpaid property taxes (the municipal taxes), will be cancelled by the consent of the holder or beneficiary of this right.

The registration of rights extinguished by the exercise of hypothecary rights, by the forced sale or by the definitive sale of the property for non-payment of the property taxes is cancelled following the registration of the sale or taking in payment.

The registration of the prior notice of sale for non-payment of the property taxes and that of the adjudication are cancelled following the registration of the definitive sale agreed by the municipal or school authority or of the deed acknowledging that the immovable property was the subject of withdrawal.

The registration of the prior notice of sale for non-payment of the property taxes is also cancelled following the presentation of the list of unsold immovable properties.
