What can be the term for a lease?

The term of a commercial lease normally varies from a period of one to five years and contains renewal clauses. The Civil Code of Quebec does not authorize a lease for a term exceeding 99 years. The lease can be for an undetermined term, that is to say that the lease can be terminated when one of the two parties wishes to end it according to a notice sent to the other party.
