The question of terminating a trust can sometimes be complex. According to the Civil Code of Québec, a trust terminates according to the conditions set out in the trust deed. It may also terminate if there is no longer any property to manage, if the object of the trust is impossible to achieve, or if the law specifically provides for it. In certain situations, court intervention may be required.
