What documents may be required to prepare a declaration of heirs?

Depending on the circumstances, the following documents, among others, may be required:

  • the death certificate;
  • certificates of probate search;
  • the decedent’s last will and testament, if any;
  • relevant marriage, civil union, divorce, or death certificates;
  • documents establishing the family relationship between the decedent and the heirs;
  • any other document necessary to establish entitlement to the estate.
