What is a marriage contract?

The marriage or civil union contract is a notarial act containing the organization of the economic relations of the spouses between them. This type of contract also allows the future spouses, in addition to establishing their matrimonial regime, to make any other stipulation not contrary to the public order and to the mandatory provisions of the law. Such a contract allows the spouses to well understand the economic consequences of the marriage and to adapt to their needs the matrimonial agreements.
