Marriage contracts allow the future spouses to govern the relationship between them. According to the particular situation of every couple, it can be important to specify the legal regime by bringing to it particular agreements. Marriage contract also allows to clarify all the elements of the common life of the spouses, which do not necessarily relate to the chosen matrimonial regime. It can furthermore contain an enumeration of all the property of the spouses at the date of marriage.
