A trade name allows a corporation to identify itself under a name other than its legal name in order to conduct its business; this may also involve the use of a trade name. A trade name or business name is often used by a “digital” corporation.
Even when using an alias or trade name, however, a corporation must clearly indicate the name under which it is incorporated on all its commercial documents, contracts, invoices, etc., as well as on its legal documents, so that the public knows with whom it is doing business.
