The choice of the name of a business corporation turns out to be a more and more complex exercise given the numerous laws governing such a choice. The exercise can be further complicated if we wish to incorporate a business corporation in the federal jurisdiction where we will have, in addition to the abovementioned provisions, to take into account the particular requirements of Corporations-Canada.
The number constantly increasing of business corporations comes to limit the choice of a corporate name. A name search will have to be at first conducted to verify that the chosen name is not already used or is not causing confusion with the name of an already existing business corporation or a trademark.
The attribution of a numbered name is also possible as an alternative to the more complex procedures of the corporate name.
