The parties can choose together a single arbitrator.
However, the law provides a mechanism by which each party chooses itself an arbitrator: both appointed arbitrators then choose a third one. Thus, the arbitration will be chaired by three arbitrators, who will have to render together a decision by majority vote.
To make the process less expensive, we can also provide that both arbitrators chosen by the parties will resign from their functions as soon as they have chosen the third arbitrator, who will remain alone to chair the arbitration.
