What is the role of the president of the meeting?

The president (also called the chairman of the meeting) conducts the meeting of co-owners. It is him who has the responsibility that the meeting takes place in order, that the rights of participants are respected and that the procedural rules are adequately followed during the meeting. He must thus remain impartial in order to exercise his role of authority. Among the responsibilities which are incumbent to the president of the meeting, it is necessary in particular to count the certification of the attendance sheet and verification of the quorum of the meeting, the opening and closing of the meeting. It is also the president of the meeting who has the task to accept the proposals and make sure that those are properly understood by the meeting; he must also grant the right to speak to those who ask for it, and remove it if necessary. The president of the meeting will have also to determine when it is possible to hold the vote on the proposals and make known the results of the vote. As president, it will also be necessary for him to sign the minutes of proceedings with the secretary and to sign the documents required by the declaration of co-ownership and the law.
