Who is entitled to a copy of the Will?

Before the testator's death, only the testator is entitled to a copy of his Will.

After the testator's death, the liquidator and the legatees of universal legacies or by universal title are entitled to a certified true copy of the Will and that, after the liquidator have remitted to the notary the following documents: the death certificate issued by the Registrar of civil status of Quebec, the Will searches of the Chambre des notaires du Québec and the Barreau du Québec (Quebec Bar) as well as a written declaration confirming that there is no other more recent holograph Will or Will before witnesses.

As for the legatee of a legacy by particular title, he is entitled to an excerpt reproducing the parts of the Will which concern him.
