Future spouses who choose the regime of partnership of acquests will remain sole owners of the property acquired before the marriage or civil union, which property are called "private property". Property acquired during the marriage or civil union will belong to the spouse who bought them. In the event of a divorce or death, the spouse who keeps the property must repay a portion of its value to the other spouse (as a reward). Like the matrimonial regime of separation as to property, the regime of partnership of acquests remains subject to the rules governing the family patrimony.
