A civil union is a union between two people who wish to make a public commitment to live together with the same rights and obligations as married couples.
Civil unions therefore entails the obligation to live together, the mutual obligation of respect, fidelity, support and assistance, and the establishment of a family patrimony.
A civil union is open to both heterosexual and homosexual couples.
