Registrar

The Registrar is a public officer of the Quebec government who, in a registration division, is responsible for the registration and preservation of acts and deeds relating to immovable/real estate property rights (sales, mortgage, servitude, declaration of transmission, etc. ), which, in such case, it is referred to as the Land Registrar, and who, in the Register of personal and movable real rights, is responsible for the registration of some personal and movable rights (deed of gift, marriage contract, chattel mortgage, leasing, reservation of ownership, etc.) for publication purposes, which, in such case, it is referred to as the Personal and Movable Real Rights Registrar.
