A land surveyor is a public officer whose duties include land surveying, staking, measuring to determine buildings' boundaries, drafting minutes of the boundary-marking operations, of technical descriptions, of location certificates, etc. A land surveyor is also a professional who must be a member in good standing of the "Ordre des arpenteurs-géomètres du Québec" (Quebec Association of Land Surveyors).
