Undivided co-ownership, unlike divided co-ownership (condominium), is not accompanied with a physical division of the property. The co-owners are all legally owners of the entire building without being able to claim the exclusive right of ownership over any of its part.
An agreement between the co-owners may however grant an exclusive right of use in a housing unit to one co-owner and may govern the relationship between the co-owners. For example, a building with two floors could be wholly owned by two couples, which means 4 people, but each couple would occupy a different housing unit.
