Public domain

The public domain includes immovable property (land, buildings, rivers, seashores, etc.) that are owned by a public authority and that are not likely to be a private ownership.

Generally, a copyright is valid through the lifespan of the author, then for an additional period of 50 years following the end of the calendar year of the death of such author. At the end of this period, the work enters into the public domain and anyone thereafter can reproduce it.
