In case of divorce, what is happening to the gifts made in consideration of the marriage?

In case of divorce, the gifts INTER VIVOS, made in consideration of the marriage, will remain valid. It is only the gifts MORTIS CAUSA which will be automatically null and void and that, by operation of law. It is important to mention, however, that legal separation (also known as separation from bed and board) has not the effect of rendering null and void such gifts, not having the same legal incidences as divorce.
