In Canada, the Copyright Office is responsible for the registration of copyrights. The Copyright Office is managed by the Registrar of Copyrights.

The Office holds moreover an official Register of Copyrights. This register is recording all the registered copyrights, it is also recording assignments and licences for the benefit of the public.
