What is a copyright licence?

The owner of a copyright can grant to a third party a licence on his right to produce or to reproduce the work which he created. The licence allows the use of the work under certain conditions. The owner of the copyright does not give up his rights. A licence must be in writing and signed by the owner of the copyright.
