How to get the LEED certification?

Obtaining the LEED certification obeys demanding criteria. The builder, whether it is about a new construction or a renovation project, must register its project with the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and an accredited LEED professional must lead the project.

The CaGBC provides guidelines which provide to the builder the technical standards to be respected for obtaining the LEED entitling to one of the four certification levels.

Let us remind that the persons in charge of the LEED certification lean on concrete elements such as the sustainable development, the energy efficiency (as much about the heating as the lighting), the water consumption, the type and source of materials used in construction, the quality of interior arrangements, the re-use or recovery of construction waste as well as the proximity of the networks of public transportation.

The approach can certainly turn out to be complex, but the number of professionals capable of supervising such projects is growing at each year.
