Guardianship extends to both the person and the property of the minor. In certain cases, it may be advantageous to appoint a guardian for the person and one or more guardians for the property. For example, this might be the case due to the remote location of a real estate property that needs to be managed, or when the assets of the minor is substantial and the guardian lacks the necessary experience to manage such a large estate. The guardianship board may, under these circumstances, appoint a guardian of the property.
