What is a psychosocial assessment?

It is an assessment made by a psychologist or a social worker. The psychosocial assessment must establish the degree of personal autonomy (eg.: management of his personal affairs, hygiene, etc.) and the social skills of the person (eg. maintain his house, etc.) for whom the institution of a protective supervision is asked for or for whom the homologation of a protection mandate in case of incapacity is asked for. The psychosocial assessment must allow to determine if the incapacity is partial or total and if it is temporary or permanent.

Let us remind that the court will pronounce the institution of the protective supervision or the homologation of the protection mandate only if it receives a psychosocial assessment establishing the incapacity of the person concerned.
