The liquidator is entitled to reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred in good faith in the interest of the estate, including the fees of professionals whose services are necessary for the performance of the liquidator’s duties. However, expenses that are unnecessary, excessive, or incurred for the liquidator’s personal benefit are not reimbursable.
As for compensation, a liquidator who is not an heir is entitled to it. If the liquidator is also an heir, he or she may be compensated only if the will provides for it or if all the heirs consent.
