All the spouses, whether they are married civilly or religiously, are subjected to family patrimony and a matrimonial regime. This one regulates their economic relations during the marriage as well as the fate of their property upon dissolution of the regime. The matrimonial regime comes into effect on the day of the celebration of marriage.
