What to do if the life insurance policy is not found, but you still have serious reasons to believe that the deceased had one?

If you have good reasons to believe that the deceased had a life insurance policy and you cannot find it, you can make a request to the OmbudService for Life & Health Insurance (OLHI).

Given the magnitude of efforts to be invested when conducting such a search and to try to obtain a positive response to your request, it must however meet the following criteria:

  • contain several information and accurate information about the deceased;
  • the available information and evidence should be sufficient to believe in the existence of such a policy.

Generally, no search will be undertaken by the OLHI within the first three months following the death, nor after two years from the death.
