Is there different type of cottage rental contract?

Yes, we distinguish two types of cottage rental contract :

- The first one is the rental contract called short-term, for a weekend, a few days or weeks.

- The second one is a rental contract in the long term that we also call a cottage lease or resort lease. The contract concerning the rental of a pleasure place could be for a period as from 32 consecutive days up to a maximum of 6 months. Use of the cottage concerned by the lease must be strictly for vacation purposes and must in no time serve as permanent residence for the tenant. It is important to know that this type of lease is not submitted to the rules enacted by the "Régie du logement".
