Choose a business corporation of federal or provincial jurisdiction?

The choice of the jurisdiction of the business corporation can depend on several factors and will vary according to the particular situation of each business. We can mention for example the territorial area looked for at the level of activities of the business corporation. Will the business corporation exercise its activities only in Quebec or across Canada and outside the country? Articles of federal jurisdiction can turn out in this last case to be more "advantageous". This jurisdiction, however, requires that a quarter of the directors are Canadian residents. The business corporation of federal jurisdiction will also have to register in Quebec, which increases the expenses because annual reports will be due at both levels of government. The Quebec law is stricter at the level of the choice of the name of the business corporation. In Canada, the corporate name can be in French, in English or bilingual while in Quebec, a French version must be necessarily provided.
